The density of monuments and the diversity of natural and cultural landscapes, are one of the most appreciated features of this region, as a restricted area. You can start your tour in Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, taking a carriage ride through the historic center of the town, or strolling through the gardens and parks of Monserrate and Pena Palaces. In the evening, you can visit the small fishing villages nearby, walking through their narrow streets, such as Azenhas do Mar or Ericeira. If you have a chance, we recommend a walk by Mafra to visit one of the magnificent monuments (Palácio e Tapada Nacional de Mafra) built by D. João V. Enjoy the proximity to Sintra and be sure to visit Estoril and Cascais, considered the Portuguese Riviera, full of glamor and charisma. You can visit the villages or enjoy nightlife at the Casino Estoril, the largest in Europe. If you still have time, within just half an hour’s drive, you can get to know Lisbon city, considered the best European destination 2010.

The beaches in Sintra coast are well-known for their excellent characteristics for water sports, especially surfing, bodyboarding and windsurfing. Praia das Maças is a great spot, with a good right and left. It offers good conditions for surfing all year and for all development levels.
